Acarajé do Salmão
A 1 track brazil single (4m 22s) — released July 4th 2025 on Wah Wah 45s
Danish instrumental sextet Sunbörn—winners of four Danish Grammys—join forces with
acclaimed Italian producer/DJ Clap! Clap! (Paul Simon, Warp) for a boundary-blurring new album:
Earth Is Begging. Releasing in autumn 2025 on Wah Wah 45s, the project is a vibrant celebration
of global culture and sonic fusion.
The first single to be taken from the project, Acarajé do Salmão, is a vibrant and evocative
musical piece that blends the rich rhythms of Afro-Brazilian culture with subtle bossa nova
influences.
The composition carries a sunny, joyful mood that evokes the colorful streets and warm spirit of
Brazil, while also inviting deeper contemplation. As the track progresses, it gently transitions into a
more traditional soundscape reminiscent of music played during capoeira, with the distinctive
presence of the berimbau and layered percussion. This evolution in the piece connects the listener
to Brazil's cultural roots and its resilient spirit. Named after a beloved Brazilian dish, the song
mirrors the complexity and richness of its namesake: flavorful, layered, and unmistakably local.
Acarajé do Salmão seeks to celebrate life and joy, while subtly encouraging reflection on today's
global challenges, a musical dish that nourishes both the soul and the mind.
The track premiered on BBC 6 Music's Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show in January in the "What to
Expect in 2025" segment.
