I Am Love

A 3 track neo-soul single (13m 42s) — released June 30th 2021 on Wah Wah 45s

Jamie Finlay: Singer, songwriter, producer, DJ, and all-round good guy from Manchester, comes through with his fourth release for Wah Wah 45s. The 'I Am Love EP' skips through soul, forward thinking club beats, and spoken word, and features a trio of top notch vocalists. The opening chords of the title track herald the glorious tones of Robert Mitchell's Panacea and Silhouette Brown chanteuse Deborah Jordan, and harks back to early 80s rare groove, underpinned of course, by some very modern Finlay production. The dance floor friendly tech soul of 'If…' features some suitably angular vocals courtesy of Brighton based singer/songwriter Shona Foster. Wrapping things up, award winning Canadian poet Dwayne Morgan (Up From The Roots) carves up a devastating insight into modern life on the funky yet profound 'Samitra'. Critics have long been tipping Master Finlay as 'a name to watch' and have compared his sound to Prince, Plantlife, George Clinton and, legendary producers, the Mizell Brothers. Jamie's live show, with the man himself at the helm on lead vocals, has been tearing up venues across the UK and next year will see the release of Jamie's debut long-player! In the meantime, though, we suggest you stave off your hunger with this trio of treats, enjoy!
