"Hey Lover", the second single taken from the album "Second To None", features one of our favourite vocalists here at Wah Wah Towers - Miss Laura Vane. This young lady's tonsils have not only featured on work by Diesler and MJ Cole, but also very heavily on another of our artists, the Part-Time Heroes. This cut shows off her sassy vocals perfectly with a slow burning club nugget that should do plenty of business on the dance floor. On the flip, "Moochin'" provides the perfect antidote with some low slung beats and glorious sax work from ex-Quantic Soul Orchestra member John Hughes and sultry strings from Alice Russell collaborator Mike Siddell. Hardkandy's new album features not only guest vocals from some of the most talented soul/blues artists in the UK including Martin Harley, Laura Vane (of course) and Fink (Ninja tune), but also the very Curtis Mayfield styled vocals of Seany Clarke.
